Losing a beloved horse is never easy. On May 14, 2025, after a long fight against an illness, we said our final goodbye to our racehorse, Our Pride N Joy. Pride was more than just a racehorse; he was a treasured part of our family. His spirit, drive, and charm left a lasting impression that will resonate with us forever.
Pride entered our lives as a weanling when we purchased him at the 2018 Fasig Tipton Saratoga Fall Sale for $25,000. From that moment, he embarked on a journey filled with highs and lows, dramatic races, and unforgettable memories on the racetrack.

Over his career, Pride earned a total of $108,480 across 13 starts. His record included 2 wins, 2 seconds, and 1 third. His first win on July 30, 2022, at Monmouth Park during a $57,500 Maiden Special Weight race marked a turning point for both him and us. The exhilaration of watching him cross the finish line first is a memory we will treasure forever.

Following his maiden victory, on September 4, 2022, he returned to the track in a $60,000 Allowance Optional Claiming race, during which he posted an impressive speed figure of 94. However, for us, his most impressive race happened on July 30, 2023 - a $62,500 Allowance Optional Claiming. Despite finishing second by a neck, in this race he posted an Equibase speed figure on 109.
Despite his achievements, Pride struggled with health issues throughout his racing career. In January 2025, we welcomed him back home, hopeful for yet another recovery. However, by the second week of May, Pride's condition took a serious turn. It was a staggering reminder of how suddenly life can shift.
His passing has created an immense void in our lives. Although he has left this world, he will always remain in our hearts. For every race, every achievement, and every challenge we faced together, we owe him our deepest appreciation. Thank you to everyone who was part of his journey; you played an important role in his story.
Rest in peace, Pride. You will always be remembered.
